The award winning St Nicolas Players have been a Spalding based amateur dramatic society since the 1960's - the name came from the use of the St. Nicholas Church Hall for early meetings. St Nics was originally founded as a youth drama group but was soon putting on productions for all ages. We are now primarily a society for adults, but have always encouraged enthusiastic young people and over the years, several former members have gone on to training and employment in the professional arts and entertainment industries.

We aim to produce two shows a year - often contemporary drama or comedy but also small scale musicals, revues and touring productions. Although not all our shows fall into these categories, if a local society is tackling a controversial issue, producing a play written in the last 20 years or taking a show on tour, it's likely to be St Nics - we always enjoy a challenge! Whilst we always aim to produce the highest quality production possible, above all St Nics is about enjoyment, both for the participants and the audience.

As well as being an amateur theatre group, the players also have a good social calendar, which includes theatre trips, a summer barbeque, the odd quiz night, and of course a few get togethers at one of our favourite inns.

We are a friendly bunch where those working offstage are considered as important as those on it - most of us do both at one time or another (although nothing is compulsory LOL!). Equally important are those wonderful people who buy tickets for our shows. A big thank you to you all!
