It is 1964 in Ivy League suburbia, California. A college student spends his first summer out of school in the arms of his father's best friend's wife. Meanwhile, he is falling in love with the man's daughter.....!

A word from the Director
(reproduced from the performance programme)

Ten years ago the paint was tacky and the concrete was wet in places but St Nic's struggled through all of this to stage the first production in what was the first new theatre in Lincolnshire for over 50 years. The South Holland Centre has become a local centre of excellence for the performing arts and still the best facility in the area. I am excited that exactly ten years after Steel Magnolias I am directing St Nic's production of The Graduate. I am pleased to be Directing with Marilyn Morris again as Producer, the first time we have worked together since the opening production.

The Graduate started out as a controversial novel, became an iconic film and latterly a sensational play both in the West End and on Broadway. I am proud, as always, to be involved with St Nic's. This is new ground for everyone involved because it is one of the first half dozen amateur productions in the U.K. It only remains for me to thank the whole of the cast and production team for their contribution and support. Thank you for coming and I hope you enjoy our interpretation of this fabulous script.
